Geo Cala Rossa, which is the pilot project Geo Egadi , aims to "adopt" the famous Cala Rossa, beautiful bay of Favignana.
The redevelopment of Cala Rossa is to:
- the acquisition of land overlooking the cove, about 7,000 square meters, to protect it and make it accessible and rebuilding of dry stone walls enclosing (already done by the Tourism Association of Egadi Marrobbio with CPAC Sponsors and private);
- the preservation of plants typical of Egadi;
- the repair of the road path, now full of holes, which connects with the Bue Marino Cala Rossa (the responsibility of the City of Favignana)
- the creation of a pedestrian area with permitted access to bicycles, to protect the land and nature its quietness (the responsibility of the City);
- the path of some paths to allow easy access to the sea (the responsibility of the State Property / Province of Trapani);
- the construction of a parking area for vehicles that do not have access to pedestrian precinct with a shuttle service (bus power) that connects with the creek (the responsibility of the Municipality / Sponsor / Province);
- the recovery and cleaning of a tuff quarry to be adapted to underground garden;
- Recovery and restoration of the characteristic dry stone walls (the responsibility of the Municipality / Sponsor / Sicily);
- the discreet lighting set and its geological study, to ensure its security and check the soundness of the caves (the responsibility of State Property / Province / AMP).
then annually, at the beginning of the summer season, there will be general cleaning of the set, and sea caves, the control and verification of clean areas for a total period of one hundred days (the responsibility of the State Property / Sponsor / Province / AMP ).
